Donation Requests: old tennis balls and extra clothes

Tennis balls: If you have any used tennis balls that you are looking to get rid of we are happy to take them! We are looking to put the balls on the legs of chairs for our youngest students, so used or new tennis balls would be welcome.

Extra clothes: We are seeking some new or gently used sweatpants to keep in our health office should children need a change of clothing throughout the day. We are primarily looking for sizes that will fit our 4-7 year-old children, but larger sizes are also welcome.

You can drop off any donations at our main office. Please call us at 651-274-2597 with any questions.

Annual Fun Run

The Fun Run is a Nokomis Montessori South PTO fundraiser to fund field trips, teacher appreciation events, new playground materials, playground equipment, and other school materials.

During the school day on September 30th, classrooms will complete the Fun Run on the school playground. Leading up to the Fun Run, students will collect donations from family and friends (your student should have brought home a flyer). The class that earns the most donations will get a special pizza lunch with Principal Abby!

Donations can be made by cash, check, or Venmo (see the flyer). NOTE: We are just collecting flat donations (e.g., $1, $5, $10). We are NOT collecting per lap donations.

Watch for more information in the coming weeks with specifics about when your child’s class will run. Families are welcome to come in to cheer on their student and their class!

Music Concerts June 1st

Students have been working very hard in their music classes, guided by Ms. Rita.

Nokomis Montessori South will host music concerts on Wednesday, June 1st. As of now, families are able to attend the music concerts. In an effort to keep audiences relatively small, we will hold them at different times for each grade level. We will also encourage masks/face-coverings.

Schedule

  • Children’s House (Grades Prek and K) @ 1:45-2:00 PM
  • E1 (Grades 1, 2, and 3) @ 2:15-2:45 PM
  • E2 (Grades 4 and 5) @ 3:15-3:45 PM

Please reach out to Ms. Rita at rita.nauman@spps.org or call our main office at 651-744-5500 with any questions.
